British filmmaker Rose Glass continues her streak after her acclaimed 2019 debut, ‘Saint Maud,’ with a gripping narrative of love, passion and danger. In her latest film, Lou (played by Kristen Stewart) manages a gym in New Mexico and finds herself captivated by Jackie (portrayed by Katy O’Brian), a determined bodybuilder aspiring for success in Las Vegas.
However, their burgeoning romance faces formidable challenges as Lou’s father (a menacing Ed Harris) entangles them in the criminal underworld.
‘Road House’ (21st March)
In this remake of the 1980s cult classic featuring Patrick Swayze’s iconic role, Jake Gyllenhaal steps into the shoes of Elwood Dalton, our modern-day hero who trades the octagon for the bar scene in the Florida Keys. With Director Doug Liman at the helm, Gyllenhaal’s Dalton navigates the small-town chaos, taking on the bigwig one brawl at a time. As the stakes rise, and throats are metaphorically ripped out, this reimagined tale promises to honour the original’s legacy.
‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire‘ (22nd March)
In Jason Reitman’s sequel to the 2021 ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot, ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife,’ a menacing force known as the ‘Death Chill’ threatens New York City with an impending ice age, terrifying its inhabitants to death. Returning are the next-gen paranormal investigators played by Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace, alongside franchise originals Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts, ready for another round of ghost-busting.
‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire‘ (29th March)
In the highly anticipated sequel to the Monsterverse’s 2021 clash, the two iconic kaiju, Godzilla and Kong, return for an epic round two. Surprisingly, the synopsis hints at a potential alliance between the Titans as they confront “a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world.”
The film stars Dan Stevens in the lead role, alongside returning GVK actors Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle.
