The Show Must Go On

Home Fest: A Late Late Night Special, special happened and it was a major kick in our rather dull week. A number of stars joined James Corden while he opened up about the medical and mental health of the country. So here is us thinking that this special show was really, actually brought to us by the virus, eh? Here’s what he said about the great equalizer: “This virus has brought us altogether. It’s united us in something. This virus has shown that we are all equal, we are all simply human. This virus doesn’t discriminate in anyway.”

The show started with a precious first guest, John Legend. Of course, no Legend story is complete with Chrissy Tiegen, so she joined in as well in the live stream from their Los Angeles home. Before performing a song on the piano, the couple had this to say: “The hardest part is just trying to figure out how to entertain the kids. You gain a new respect for what preschool teachers do for five, six hours a day. We are gaining weight and we love it.” We’re honestly glad to hear this; makes us feel better about the rolls we have been inviting.

After John, Billie Eilish and Finneas joined in also from Los Angeles, playing songs with puppies on their laps and basically making all our days. There was David Blaine, the magician, in there somewhere, and then Dua Lipa came in from London with her whole damn band, phew! A lot happened and the fans were ecstatic with the banter and the freshness of it all.

Not just this, Italian vocalist, Andrea Bocelli, also joined in to pay tribute to those at the frontlines of the calamity that faces the country.
Of course, no parliament of the best talent is complete without BTS, so of course they joined in from Seoul. RM said, “I think it’s quite a difficult time for everyone in the world right now. It may seem like we’re isolated but we’re still connected.”

Ben Platt also performed a song too that was rather emotional and so was Corden towards the end.

“I found I just get so overwhelmed with sadness in it all really and the truth is what I have realized it’s okay right now to feel a bit sad,” he said. “The best thing we can do is try and breathe through that and try and put our minds in a positive place.”
