‘The Vampire Diaries’ Kat Graham Will Play Diana Ross in Michael Jackson Biopic

The cast of ‘Michael,’ the eagerly awaited biopic about Michael Jackson, has been revealed. Famous people like Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, and Michael Jackson’s elder sister La Toya Jackson are joining the cast.

Diana Ross will be portrayed by Kat Graham, of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ fame, according to a Variety report. Graham thanked everyone on social media and shared her excitement about playing Ross in Antoine Fuqua’s film. 

Furthermore, ‘Insecure’ star Kendrick Sampson will play Quincy Jones, a significant character in Michael Jackson’s early years.

Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Records, will be portrayed by Larenz Tate, best known for his portrayal of Quincy Jones in ‘Ray’ (2004). Jessica Sula will play La Toya Jackson, and Gladys Knight, Dick Clark, and Bill Ray will be portrayed by Liv Symone, Kevin Shinick, and Keilyn Durrel Jones, in that order.

These new members round out the previously revealed cast, which also stars Juliano Krue Valdi, Jaafar Jackson, Miles Teller, Colman Domingo, and Nia Long.

The nephew of Michael Jackson, Jaafar Jackson (son of Jermaine Jackson), will play the King of Pop in his feature film debut. Colman Domingo, who was just nominated for an Oscar for his performance in ‘Rustin,’ will play Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson.

Miles Teller will play Michael’s manager John Branca, who played a pivotal role in helping him launch his solo career. In addition, Branca is the movie’s executive producer. ‘Michael’ has a strong ensemble cast and a talented group of performers, so it should provide an interesting depiction of a significant period in music history.
