Ed Sheeran is joining The Voice. The British singer is all set to join The Voice for its 21st season as a Mega Mentor from the 25th of October. He will join them just in time to help the remaining contestants prepare for the Knockouts Rounds.

Sheeran will be part of the “Knockout Rounds” following the “Battle Rounds.” The former will see artists paired against a teammate once more, but they’ll choose their own song to perform individually while their direct competitor watches and waits, according to the network.

Before Ed Sheeran this role was taken up by Taylor Swift in the past seasons and Snoop Dogg was the Mega Mentor for season 20.

This won’t be Ed’s first rodeo on The Voice. Back in season five he stepped in as a coach advisor on Christina Aguilera’s team.

Meanwhile, on this season of The Voice, the blind auditions came closer to ending Monday night.

Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande and John Legend all pulled out the stops to sign the remaining contestants they needed to complete their teams.

Sheeran will be expected to impart his considerable wisdom to this year’s top crop. Working alongside coaches Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, John Legend and Blake Shelton, he’ll guide performers’ vocal and technical choices and help tailor their songs for the best chance to progress.

The first single from it, “Bad Habits,” blasted to No. 1 on Billboard’s two Global charts and the Official U.K. Singles Chart. “Bad Habits” ruled the U.K. chart for 12 weeks, at which time it was replaced by another new Sheeran song, “Shivers,” which has led the survey for three weeks and is on track for a fourth.
