During the red carpet event for ‘Quantumania’ in 2023, Douglas reiterated his stance, stating that he would only consider returning to the MCU if his character meets his end. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he emphasized that his comeback hinges on the condition of Pym’s death.

Despite Douglas’s readiness to reprise his role under specific circumstances, the future of the ‘Ant-Man’ franchise appears uncertain. The latest instalment, ‘Quantumania,’ faced challenges at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics. Coupled with the underperformance of another Marvel release, ‘The Marvels,’ questions loom over the franchise’s direction.

The departure of Jonathan Majors, who portrayed the emerging antagonist Kang the Conqueror, further complicates the storyline’s trajectory. However, Marvel executive Stephen Broussard hinted at positive discussions regarding a fourth ‘Ant-Man’ film. Despite Quantumania’s reception, Broussard affirmed Marvel’s commitment to exploring new possibilities within the ‘Ant-Man’ universe.
