Tim Burton, the visionary behind 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' and Gillian Flynn, the brilliant mind behind 'Gone Girl,' are coming together to tackle the Warner Bros. remake of 'Attack of the Fifty-Foot Woman.'

In this upcoming sci-fi horror flick, Tim Burton takes the directorial reins, working with a script penned by Gillian Flynn. The storyline unfolds around a wealthy heiress who undergoes a gigantic transformation after encountering aliens, unleashing her wrath on a cheating husband.

While the details of how closely the remake will stick to the original 1958 film remain uncertain, the low-budget charm of the first movie, made with just $88,000, suggests the redo might come with a slightly higher price tag.

This project marks a reunion between Tim Burton and Warner Bros., where the acclaimed director is currently immersed in crafting the sequel to his 1988 hit, ‘Beetlejuice.’ Aptly titled ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ the mischievous poltergeist will haunt theatres on 6th September.

Burton's impressive directing portfolio includes iconic films such as ‘Edward Scissorhands,’ ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Planet of the Apes.’

While Gillian Flynn is currently making waves adapting her novel ‘Dark Places’ into a limited series for HBO, her impressive resume includes writing the screenplay for David Fincher's gripping 2014 thriller ‘Gone Girl.’ Not stopping there, she successfully transformed her 2006 book, ‘Sharp Objects,’ into an HBO miniseries starring the talented Amy Adams.

On the other side of the creative spectrum, Burton is not just taking the director's chair for ‘Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman’ but also stepping into the role of producer alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper.
