Timothée Chalamet has once again proven why he is one of the most compelling actors of his generation. At the 2026 Academy Awards, the Hollywood star created history by becoming the youngest male actor to receive three acting nominations, earning a Best Actor nod for his widely praised performance in 'Marty Supreme.' Timothée's Record-Breaking 2026 Oscar Run

Timothée Chalamet has made Oscar history by being the youngest male actor to receive three acting nominations, marking a significant milestone for the 98th Academy Awards. His latest nomination puts him ahead of his celebrated peers, marking an unprecedented run of acting recognition at a relatively young age.

Chalamet's breakthrough performance in 'Call Me By Your Name' and his critically lauded role as Bob Dylan in 'A Complete Unknown' were the sources of his prior Oscar acting nods. These roles demonstrated his versatility and range early in his career, and with 'Marty Supreme,' he continues to earn praise from critics and award voters alike.

Chalamet is up against heavyweights like Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) in this year's Best Actor category, which reads like a who's who of Hollywood talent.

About 'Marty Supreme' and Chalamet's Role

'Marty Supreme' has been praised for its compelling story, outstanding acting, and technical mastery, making it a standout movie of the awards season. The film, which was directed by Josh Safdie, chronicles the story of Marty Mauser, a tough but driven table tennis player who fights against all odds to achieve his goals. Marty is a remarkable and Oscar-worthy character because of Chalamet's portrayal of the tenacious character, which captures both heart and tenacity.

The film has earned nine Oscar nominations across major categories, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Casting, and several key technical categories like cinematography and production design.

Beyond its Academy nods, 'Marty Supreme' enjoyed early success during awards season, with Chalamet taking home the 2026 Golden Globe for Best Actor—Musical or Comedy, making him the youngest ever to win that Globe category.

Another notable accomplishment is Chalamet's dual recognition as producer and actor for Marty Supreme; he broke a long-standing record previously held by Warren Beatty by becoming the youngest person to be nominated in both roles for the same movie.

Oscars Context and Growing Awards Buzz

The 98th Academy Awards nominations reflect a competitive and diverse field. With 16 nominations—the most ever for a single movie—'Sinners' created history and illustrated the Academy's expanding reach. 'Marty Supreme,' on the other hand, has nine nominations, making it a strong contender. 'Bugonia,' 'Hamnet,' 'Frankenstein,' 'One Battle After Another,' and 'Sentimental Value' are some of the other leading contenders for Best Picture.

This year, Chalamet's standing on the awards scene has only gotten better. Alongside Golden Globes and Critics Choice awards for 'Marty Supreme,' he has been a standout presence across ceremonies, fueling anticipation for his first Oscar win. If he takes home the Best Actor statuette, he would be the second-youngest ever to do so, only behind Adrien Brody.

Chalamet's historic accomplishment and growing hype makes him one of Hollywood's most talked-about stars as Oscars night, which will air on ABC on 15th March and be hosted by Conan O'Brien, draws near.
