Timothée Chalamet might have missed out on the Best Actor trophy at the 2026 Oscars, but he is already shifting his focus back to his massive sci-fi franchise.

Just one day after the ceremony, the 30-year-old actor sent a special video message to the media at a launch event on 16th March, to help debut the first look at 'Dune: Part Three.'

Timothée Chalamet's Message

In his message, Chalamet reflected on the long journey of bringing the trilogy to life. He noted that the project has been in development since the mid-2010s, with a production process that started back in 2018 and spanned over 150 days of filming across all three movies. He took a moment to praise director Denis Villeneuve, calling him a master of cinema and a great artist.

Timothée Chalamet emphasised that the film simply wouldn't exist without Villeneuve's vision and thanked him for his incredible dedication to bringing the world of 'Dune' to the big screen. He described the director's work as a true act of cinema and expressed his hope that fans would love this first sneak peek.

About 'Dune: Part Three'

The third film, which is based on the novel 'Dune Messiah,' picks up 17 years after the events of the second movie. It follows Chalamet's character, Paul Atreides, as he deals with the consequences of his rise to power after becoming the emperor of the known universe.

This big career moment comes on the heels of a busy awards season for Chalamet. While he won top honours at the Critics' Choice and Golden Globe Awards for his role in 'Marty Supreme', he lost the Oscar to Michael B. Jordan, who took home the prize for his performance in 'Sinners.' Despite 'Marty Supreme' receiving nine nominations, it unfortunately went home empty-handed. Timothée Chalamet attended the ceremony and the Vanity Fair afterparty with his partner, Kylie Jenner, by his side.

Fans can expect to see several familiar faces returning for the final chapter, including Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Jason Momoa. The cast is also expanding with new additions like Robert Pattinson. 'Dune: Part Three' is set to hit theatres on 18th December, the same day as 'Avengers: Doomsday.' Timothée Chalamet previously joked that the massive double-feature date should be called "Dunesday," a nod to the famous "Barbenheimer" craze from a few years ago.
