Tom Hanks lit up the red carpet with his trademark humour and charisma at the recent New York City premiere of 'The Phoenician Scheme'. The beloved actor, known for his affable personality, sparked laughter as he jokingly scolded photographers during a playful moment at the star-studded event.
At 68, the two-time Academy Award winner continues to captivate fans, both on screen and off. While posing for photos at the Jazz at Lincoln Centre venue, Tom Hanks humorously urged a photographer to speed things up, pretending to lose patience. According to Page Six, he playfully shouted an expletive, telling another cameraman to quiet down as the light-hearted chaos unfolded.
Joining in on the fun was 'Breaking Bad' star Bryan Cranston, who plays Tom Hanks’ on-screen brother in the new Wes Anderson film. Cranston made a witty remark about his crooked tie and joked with photographers about launching his own brand of neckwear called "Askew."

The premiere brought out the full ensemble cast of 'The Phoenician Scheme', including Scarlett Johansson, Benicio del Toro, Michael Cera, and others. The film, directed by Wes Anderson, centres on Zsa-zsa Korda (played by del Toro), an eccentric industrialist embarking on a quirky business venture with his daughter and her tutor. Leland and Reagan, played by Tom Hanks and Cranston, are basketball-loving siblings who provide the narrative with a humorous element.
Tom Hanks joyfully greeted del Toro on the occasion, while Cranston recalled a special behind-the-scenes moment. He shared how both he and Hanks were amazed by del Toro’s demanding dialogue scenes during filming, even joking that they offered to pamper him in appreciation of his efforts.
'The Phoenician Scheme' is set for theatrical release on 30th May, and promises a fresh dose of Anderson’s signature style, quirky characters, and an all-star lineup.
