‘Tomb Raider’ Anime Trailer and Release Date Revealed

Netflix has disclosed the release date for its forthcoming ‘Tomb Raider’ television series.

Over the weekend, the trailer for ‘Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft,’ revealed that the animated series is slated to hit the streaming service on 10th October. As confirmed in a blog post on the official ‘Tomb Raider’ website, the series serves as a continuation of the Square Enix video game franchise. The blog entry states: “Following the events of the Survivor Trilogy, Lara Croft has left her companions behind to embark on increasingly perilous solo escapades.”

It goes on to say: “However, she must return home when a dangerous and potent Chinese artefact is pilfered from Croft Manor by a thief with an eerie personal tie. Her bold pursuit will lead her on a globe-trotting adventure and into the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be compelled to confront her true essence and decide the sort of hero she aspires to be.”

Netflix’s T’omb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft’ isn’t the solitary ‘Tomb Raider’ television series in progress. In May, Amazon Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios disclosed that a new ‘Tomb Raider’ series was in the pipeline with video game developer Crystal Dynamics. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to script and serve as executive producer for the series.
