Tori Spelling Reveals What Made Her File For Divorce From Dean McDermott

In an open conversation, Tori Spelling revealed why she had decided to file for divorce from her 18-year-old husband, Dean McDermott, in a recent episode of her podcast, ‘misSPELLING,’ which aired on 31st March. The 50-year-old actress revealed that Dean, 57, publicly addressed their marital problems in an interview, which is when she came to the ultimate decision.

“My divorce was just filed. Whoa, I just said what I’ve been saying to myself for the past sixteen years or so. Wild,” she disclosed at the beginning of the podcast.

Tori let Dean know about the news going public during the episode. “So, I believe I should file first. “You pretty much put everything on display with the Daily Mail,” the woman said, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. “You stated all that you have done to me over the years. Therefore, I believe that filing a follow-up would be quite reasonable. Since I would never have revealed those details to anyone.”

In an interview from November 2023, Dean described how an argument fueled by alcohol led him to post a separation announcement on Instagram. “That last argument, in which I was enraged and intoxicated, is my worst memory of Tori.

“That was the night I lost my temper with her and the kids, and I witnessed the last glimmer of hope disappear from her eyes,” he told Daily Mail. “After I sent the post, I took some more pills, and I took six or seven Ambien in the hopes that I would not wake up.”

Tori ended the conversation by declaring her love for Dean, even though it was not audible when he responded during the podcast. She continued to think back on their relationship, observing that their first strong bond changed when their kids were born. 

Tori also related the specifics of the dispute that the now-sober Dean had previously spoken about. “Ugh, I’m so tired of this,” he exclaimed. For eighteen years, I have been picking up Tori Spelling’s St. And I fucked up,” she said.

On Friday, 29th March, Tori filed for divorce from Dean, stating 17th June 2023, as the date of their separation and citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause. She asked for joint custody of their five kids in court.
