Trevor Noah Defends Taylor Swift's NFL Game Attendance in Grammys Monologue: 'Let Her Live'

Trevor Noah took centre stage at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, delivering a captivating monologue. The comedian kicked off the event with his trademark wit, addressing the recent controversy surrounding Taylor Swift's support for her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at NFL games. As Swift entered the venue, Noah seized the opportunity to weave her presence into his opening remarks.

"With Taylor Swift moving through the room, the local economy around those tables improves," Noah quipped, setting the tone for his light-hearted yet incisive commentary.

Acknowledging the uproar over Swift's visibility at NFL games, Noah defended the pop star, emphasising the unfairness of the criticism. "I think it is so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift like she’s controlling the cameras at the games. Just let her live!" he asserted, eliciting laughter from the audience.

Injecting humour into the situation, Noah playfully threatened to retaliate against the backlash. "Every time they mention Taylor Swift, I’m going to get revenge. Every time someone says ‘Taylor Swift,’ I’m going to cut the cameras to someone who played football," he declared, before panning the camera to Terry Crews. "You like that, Terry Crews? You better fix your face Terry! We’re watching you all night. No relaxing for you."

His tenure has been marked by memorable moments, such as his introduction of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to Adele during the 2023 awards, showcasing his ability to blend humour with star-studded events seamlessly.

In addition to his hosting duties, Trevor Noah is also in the running for an award this year! The talented comedian has earned a nomination for the prestigious 'Best Comedy Album' accolade for his special ‘I Wish You Would’. Competing against esteemed comedians like Wanda Sykes, Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman and Dave Chappelle, Noah finds himself in illustrious company within the category.
