Truck Crash at Eddie Murphy’s Movie Set Lands Crew Members in The Hospital

Several crew members have sustained injuries following an incident on the set of the upcoming movie, ‘The Pickup.’

The mishap occurred in Atlanta, Georgia, when a car collided with a truck during the filming of a scene for the movie. According to The Guardian, two crew members were taken to the hospital and several others suffered injuries in the accident. Fortunately, the film’s stars, including Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson,\ and Keke Palmer, were not present on set at the time.

Amazon MGM Studios issued a statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the accident. They stated, “Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned, and several crew members were injured as a result.” The statement further expressed concern for the injured individuals, stating, “We are still gathering facts on what happened and why, but our foremost thoughts are with those who are recovering.”

The studio reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of everyone involved in the film, declaring, “The wellbeing of the entire crew and cast is our top priority, and we will continue to uphold the highest industry safety standards during filming. All safety measures were reviewed and monitored before and during the shoot.”

According to sources cited by The Guardian, injuries ranged from minor abrasions and bruises to broken bones. The source described the incident as a “completely freak accident,” emphasizing that it wasn’t even a complex or risky stunt.

Directed by Tim Story, best known for his work on ‘Fantastic Four,’ ‘The Pickup’ is slated to be an action comedy. Although a release date hasn’t been confirmed, production is expected to proceed without delays despite the incident, as reported by The Guardian.
