Unfolding The Drama Behind ‘It Ends With Us’

‘It Ends With Us,’ the highly anticipated film starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, hit cinemas on Friday, August 9th, and it’s safe to say Hollywood is buzzing. The movie, based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, follows the journey of Lily Bloom (played by Lively) as she navigates her dream life, only to have it disrupted by a tumultuous relationship with Ryle Kincaid (portrayed by Baldoni). The cast is rounded out with notable names like Hasan Minhaj, Jenny Slate, and Isabela Ferrer.

Despite the film’s success, drawing in a strong $50 million at the domestic box office over the weekend, the attention isn’t solely on the film’s content. Whispers of tension between Lively and Baldoni have been circulating, suggesting that not all is well behind the scenes. According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, the issues are far deeper than mere artistic differences between the two leads.

“All is not what it seems,” the insider revealed. “There’s much more to this story. The principal cast and [author] Colleen Hoover have distanced themselves from him.” This tension reportedly started to surface before the film’s release, with Baldoni handling most of the promotional work alone, including a notable absence from group photos at the New York premiere.

An insider familiar with Baldoni’s side of the story claims these reports are exaggerated. This echoes a Hollywood Reporter article from August 8th, which mentioned a rift among the filmmakers during post-production, resulting in the creation of two distinct versions of the film. Additionally, Lively is rumoured to be eyeing the director’s chair for a potential sequel, sidelining Baldoni and seeking to secure the rights from Colleen Hoover.
