Unraveling The Reasons Behind Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied's Breakup

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied ended their 11-year marriage, as reported over the summer. Despite multiple rumours, the couple, parents to 12-year-old Aleph and 6-year-old Amalia, has not officially confirmed the status of their relationship.

The 42-year-old Oscar-winning actress and the 46-year-old French director allegedly parted ways earlier this year, with reports suggesting that Benjamin was involved in an extramarital affair. Although the couple has been seen in public together just once since then, during the Women's World Cup in August, they have not addressed the speculation.

The initial report about Benjamin's alleged affair with 25-year-old climate activist Camille Étienne surfaced on 2nd June.

Despite the rumours, a source shared that Natalie and Benjamin have not officially split and are attempting to work through their issues. The insider emphasized Benjamin's efforts to seek forgiveness and save their family. Another source revealed that the affair was brief, and the couple remains together. Natalie, known for her privacy, is focused on shielding her children and their privacy amidst the challenges in her personal life.

During the summer, Natalie and Benjamin appeared to be dealing with marital difficulties, spending much of their time apart. On 7th June, Natalie attended the French Open without her spouse, looking cheerful. The next day, Benjamin was spotted alone at the Pathe Theater in Paris for a screening of his directorial debut film, Carmen. Two days later, while at a park with Benjamin and their children, Natalie was seen wiping away tears on a bench.

By 7th August, news surfaced of Natalie and Benjamin's split following reports of his alleged affair. An insider revealed, "After news of his affair came out, they’ve been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs”. Later in the month, the couple reunited at the Women’s World Cup with their son seated between them. However, Benjamin and Aleph left the game early without Natalie.

In the most recent development, Natalie attended the premiere of her new movie, ‘May December,’ on 16th November without her wedding ring. She walked the red carpet alone and did not address questions from reporters about her marriage.
