Victoria Beckham Reflects on The Liberating Experience of The Recent ‘Beckham’ Docuseries
Victoria Beckham is enthusiastically sharing her uplifting experience from filming the Netflix documentary series ‘Beckham,’ which premiered last year. In a recent interview with the Financial Times, the 49-year-old designer expressed that participating in the series alongside her husband David Beckham felt “quite liberating.”
The documentary delves into the couple’s relationship and family life, featuring candid conversations.
In her conversation with the FT, Victoria remarked, “It was quite liberating. I was very mindful that usually, when I did my filming, I would be controlling. But this was very much about David, and so I took the approach of, ‘I’m just going to be very easy‑going here.’”
The former ‘Spice Girl’ added, “People come up and they’re like, ‘We love the documentary.’ Let me tell you … They used to be scared to approach.” The positive reception has brought a sense of openness and approachability, marking a departure from her usual controlled filming style.

‘The Beckham’ docuseries hit Netflix screens in October 2023, unfolding the biographical tale of David Beckham, 48, chronicling his illustrious soccer career and the intricacies of his relationship with Victoria. The four-part series candidly explores the challenges the couple faced.
Following the series’ release, David shared his thoughts during the David Beckham Fragrances Launch Party at Torrisi in New York City on 11th October. He acknowledged the emotional journey of the past two and a half years, describing it as an “emotional rollercoaster.” Despite the challenges, he expressed pride in the final production and highlighted the honour of collaborating with director Fisher Stevens and Netflix.
In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Victoria revealed her newfound appreciation for football after attending Inter Miami FC games to support her husband, who co-owns the team. She shared how her perception shifted, feeling wanted and developing friendships with players’ families.
The designer emphasized the positive energy, especially during a match in Nashville, where the family was welcomed onto the pitch for pictures with the trophy.
Expressing immense pride in her husband’s role as a soccer team co-owner, Victoria commended David’s determination to make a difference in Major League Soccer. Reflecting on his journey from LA to achieving his goals, she described it as “bloody amazing” and emphasized his ability to turn aspirations into reality.
