As soon as the 22-year-old singer, Billie Eilish, along with her brother Finneas and the live orchestra, performed the beloved Barbie track 'What Was I Made For?' they received a standing ovation from the crowd, a gesture that reflected the impact of their performance. The song went on to win the 'Best Original Song' award later in the ceremony.
Eilish's performance moved many to tears, including cast members America Ferrera and Kate McKinnon, director Greta Gerwig, as well as Ariana Grande, star of 'Wicked' and other celebrities in attendance.

Before the 96th Academy Awards, Eilish had already garnered multiple awards at the Grammys in February, including 'Song of the Year' and 'Best Song Written for Visual Media,' both for the 'Barbie' song.
This isn't the first time Eilish and Finneas have been recognised at the Oscars. They previously won 'Best Original Song' at the 2022 Oscars for 'No Time to Die' from the 'James Bond' film of the same name.
