The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and produced by a team including Pitt, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton also plays a key role behind the scenes, serving as a producer through his film and TV production company, Dawn Apollo Films. Hamilton’s passion for film and racing brings a unique perspective to the production, enhancing its authenticity and appeal to racing enthusiasts.

In a revealing interview with GQ, Hamilton shared his deep admiration for the Top Gun franchise. He recalled meeting Tom Cruise in 2014 and expressing his eagerness to be part of ‘Top Gun 2’. “I said, ‘Dude, if you ever do Top Gun 2… I will even be a janitor — just let me be in it,’” Hamilton recounted. Despite his enthusiasm, scheduling conflicts prevented him from taking on a role in Top Gun: Maverick.

Hamilton explained that he hadn’t had any acting lessons at the time and was concerned about committing to the role without proper preparation. “Firstly, I hadn’t even had, like, an acting lesson,” he said. “And I don’t want to be the one that lets this movie down. Then, secondly, I just really didn’t have the time to dedicate to it.” Reflecting on his decision, he admitted it was difficult to turn down the opportunity, especially after seeing the finished film.

The collaboration between Hamilton and the filmmakers of ‘F1’ promises to deliver a captivating and authentic portrayal of the racing world. With its star-studded cast, real-life racing footage, and heartfelt storytelling, ‘F1’ is set to be a must-watch for fans of both motorsports and cinema.
