This marked Gyllenhaal’s third time hosting the late-night sketch comedy show, previously hosted in 2007 and 2022. During his last hosting stint, he joked about the significant time gap between appearances, humorously remarking on the multitude of Marvel movies released since then.

In his recent hosting gig, Gyllenhaal participated in various sketches, including parodies of Scooby-Doo and fast fashion. The Academy Award nominee’s recent success extends to his role in the Prime Video movie ‘Roadhouse,’ with a sequel quickly greenlit after garnering nearly 80 million viewers worldwide.
