In Guadagnino’s words, “I needed to visually amplify this journey for the audience, to convey the significance of their reunion, not as adversaries, but as individuals rekindling their shared desires.” Challengers thus transcend the realm of sports drama, offering a poignant exploration of love, rivalry, and redemption.
