When is Kanye West Releasing His New Album, ‘Vultures’?

Ye West, aka Kanye West, has been hyping up the release of his latest album for a while now. The much-anticipated collaborative project with Ty Dolla $ign was scheduled to hit the airwaves at midnight on 15th December, but lo and behold, there was no sign of the promised album.

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign had been dropping hints about their joint venture, ‘Vultures,’ since earlier this year. However, after two postponements on 13th October and 15th December, rumours are swirling that the album will finally see the light of day on New Year’s Eve, according to various sources.

Why the Delay?

The tracklist boasts an impressive lineup of collaborations, featuring heavyweights like Offset, Lil Baby, Charlie Wilson, Bad Bunny, Young Thug, and more. There’s a bit of drama with Nicki Minaj. The Queen of Rap declined to green-light her 2018 joint track, ‘New Body,’ for ‘Vultures.’ This refusal is touted as one of the culprits behind the album’s delayed drop.

Kanye tweeted a screenshot of his chat with Nicki Minaj, casually asking if he could use ‘New Body’ on the new album. Nicki Minaj, during one of her Instagram live sessions, publicly shut down Kanye’s request. “Child, that train has already left the station, OK? No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand-new album. Now why would I put out a song that has already been out for three years? Come on, guys. You know,” she quipped, firmly denying Kanye West the use of their collaborative track.

Adding to the mix, Kanye West has thrown in a Backstreet Boys classic on his album. The track ‘Everybody’ samples the 1999 hit Backstreet Back from the 90s pop icons. Interestingly, Kanye reportedly didn’t go through the proper channels to get official permission for this musical fusion. The recreated chorus by Charlie Wilson is in there, but the original songwriters haven’t raised any objections—yet.
