During a recent appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, Ariana Grande opened up about her relationship with her music after its release. She revealed that while she sometimes enjoys listening to her songs, the process of creating them is all-consuming. "In the process of making it, I listen to only it, and I'm obsessive beyond imagination," Grande admitted, highlighting the intense focus she dedicates to her music.
However, Grande confessed that there are certain tracks she prefers to "not hear ever again" due to the emotional weight they carry. Her connection to her music is something that continuously evolves.

Over time, and through performing, her feelings towards some songs have changed. She explained that tracks she didn't initially favour have become significant because of the impact they've had on her audience. "Seeing what they do for the audience and what they have done for people" has altered her perspective on these songs.
Grande also noted that her fans' connections to her music influence her own relationship with it. Specifically, she mentioned listening to ‘some’ of her latest album, ‘Eternal Sunshine’, and how the audience's reaction can shape her view of her work.
While Grande did not intend to release new music this year, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes halted production on her acting project, 'Wicked,' allowing her to focus on her music. She described how she kept her acting and music careers separate, wanting to be "a completely different person" during filming. However, once she shifted back to music, the process of creating her album came together quickly.
Grande shared that this quick creative process felt natural and she chose not to question it. Despite this, the realisation that her work would be heard by the world was "terrifying." The release of her album brought a flood of emotions, something she expressed in an Instagram post, saying, "It's impossible to put into words what I've been feeling this week. This album is most special to me for many reasons and just holds so much. Sharing it has re-opened a lot of little and big feelings alike and it has been an emotional week in many ways!"
