Will Barry Keoghan Return as The Joker for ‘The Batman: Part II’?

Barry Keoghan, the Irish actor, appears to have confirmed his return as the Joker in the upcoming sequel, ‘The Batman: Part II.’ Keoghan’s portrayal of the iconic Gotham villain was hinted at in the first instalment, which starred Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
However, his appearance was limited to a 5-minute deleted scene released online, as it was deemed too similar to another scene involving the Riddler, according to director Matt Reeves.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Keoghan was asked about his future projects, including his role as the Joker in ‘The Batman 2.’ Although he did not directly address the question, his response neither confirmed nor denied his involvement, suggesting a return to the role.
This isn’t the first time Keoghan has hinted at reprising the Joker role. During a conversation with ‘E Talk’ in December 2023, he chose to remain ambiguous, stating, “I can’t really say anything about that… It would be exciting, wouldn’t it? To see the Joker come to life again. My smile says all, you know what I mean?”

The confirmation of ‘The Batman’ sequel came during a CinemaCon presentation by Warner Bros. on 26th April 2022, with Matt Reeves set to write and direct. While an official release date for the sequel is yet to be announced, reports suggest that it won’t hit cinemas until 2025 “at the earliest.”
