‘Suits’ is making its comeback with a new spinoff series based in Los Angeles, with filming already underway in Canada, according to sources. The big question remains: Will Meghan Markle return to her role as Rachel Zane? Speculation about the Duchess of Sussex resuming her acting career has surfaced, particularly with her departure from the British Royal family, which could pave the way for her return to the hit legal drama.

Rumours suggest that Meghan Markle, 42, may reprise her role as attorney Rachel Zane in the spinoff, ‘Suits: LA’. While her royal duties previously posed obstacles to her acting comeback, her resignation from the royal family increases the likelihood of her return to ‘Suits’. Markle exited the legal drama after its 100th episode in 2018, as reported by the Independent.

The original series was set in New York, but ‘Suits: LA’ will be filmed in the titular city, which aligns conveniently with Markle’s residence in Montecito, California, with her family of four.

However, Markle’s return has not been officially confirmed yet. Following news of the show’s renewal earlier this year, Patrick Adams, who portrayed Mike Ross, hinted at Markle’s potential return during an interview at the Golden Globes in January. Adams teased, “Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to LA. They gotta fix some stuff,” adding that the Duchess is “pretty popular” at the moment.

He further teased, “Did you hear about Meghan? I’ll tell you later.” Nevertheless, Adams expressed his excitement to “suit up” once again for the show, which has maintained its popularity on Netflix even after concluding in 2019.

Interestingly, Markle departed the show in the same year as her marriage to Prince Harry and her entry into the Royal family. During an interview with Oprah, she expressed minimal interest in returning to acting but did not entirely rule out the possibility. At that time, she was reportedly earning $50,000 per episode, according to the Independent.

‘Suits: LA’ is expected to follow the journey of a new lead character, Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who transitions to Hollywood to represent powerful clients from the city. As Ted navigates professional challenges, his career and personal life unfold alongside his law firm colleagues.

Several cast members have been officially confirmed for the spinoff series, including Stephen Amell from Arrow, Josh McDermitt from The Walking Dead, and Lex Scott Davies, according to Deadline.
