Tom Hardy has dropped hints about whether he’ll appear in the highly anticipated 'Peaky Blinders' movie. The beloved BBC period crime drama, featuring Oscar winner Cillian Murphy as the notorious gangster and entrepreneur Tommy Shelby, wrapped up in 2022 after six thrilling seasons.
Rather than launching a seventh season, creator Steven Knight has decided to conclude the saga with a feature-length film. While the full cast for this upcoming movie hasn't been announced, Knight has confirmed that Murphy will reprise his iconic role. As for Hardy, he’s hinted at the return of his character, Alfie Solomons, the formidable leader of a Camden Town gang.

“One hundred per cent, Alfie will definitely make an appearance, but I don’t know when,” Hardy told Sky News. “And I don’t even know if he will, that’s just me punting.”
Earlier this month, Netflix officially announced the 'Peaky Blinders' movie on X/Twitter, posting: “Thomas Shelby returns. A 'Peaky Blinders' film starring Cillian Murphy is coming to Netflix,” alongside a photo of the movie’s script. The currently untitled film has been penned by Knight and will be directed by Tom Harper, who directed several episodes in the show’s first season.
“It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Murphy told Deadline. “It is very gratifying to be collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

Murphy’s return to the franchise was first confirmed by Knight in March. “Murphy is definitely returning for [the movie],” he said at the premiere of his BBC drama, 'The Town.' “We’re shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth.”
Though a release date for Netflix’s 'Peaky Blinders' film hasn’t been revealed, Deadline reports that production is set to begin later this year. While details about the plot and other cast members remain under wraps, Knight did share that the film will be set during World War II. “I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen. It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
