Will We Get ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4? Here’s What The Showrunners Have to Say

Even though the beloved Apple TV+ series ‘Ted Lasso’ wrapped up its character arcs in May 2023 with the conclusion of Season 3, fans haven’t quite let go of the hope for a fourth season. Recent discussions with the showrunners suggest that this hope might not be too far-fetched after all.

At the Banff World Media Festival in June 2023, Warner Bros. TV chairman and CEO, Channing Dungey, shed some light on the decision-making process behind the potential continuation of ‘Ted Lasso.’ During a panel discussion, Dungey revealed that the studio has explored all possibilities for the show’s future, including a potential fourth season or a spinoff.

She emphasised that while creating more content simply for the sake of it isn’t the goal, there is a genuine desire to continue only if there’s a meaningful story to tell. Dungey left fans with a tantalising, “We’ll see what happens.”

Jason Sudeikis, who portrays the charming yet unconventional football coach Ted Lasso, shared his thoughts ahead of the Season 3 premiere. He acknowledged that while the story had been beautifully concluded, the love and curiosity from fans regarding the characters’ futures are both appreciated and intriguing. Sudeikis hinted at the possibility of further storytelling, whether through a continuation or a spinoff, saying, “Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks… to get to watch the further telling of these stories.”

Co-creator Bill Lawrence also chimed in on the prospect of continuing the series. He pointed out that everyone involved enjoyed the experience of making the show, making it plausible that the team could bring something new to the table even after the official conclusion.

‘Ted Lasso’ follows the journey of an American college-level football coach who is unexpectedly hired to manage a fictional Premier League soccer team in England. Despite his lack of experience in soccer, his charm and dedication are tested as the team’s owner, Rebecca Welton, secretly plots the team’s downfall.
