Wynonna Judd to Mark ‘Milestone Year’ With Las Vegas ‘Greatest Hits’ Concert

The country music star announced her return to The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas in December after a nine-year hiatus, marking a significant milestone in her dynamic career. Wynonna Judd, who started her journey as one-half of the legendary mother-daughter duo, The Judds, will honour her 40th anniversary as a live entertainer with a trio of Greatest Hits shows.

“Sometimes I feel like you just need to throw a big party for yourself!” Wynonna shared in a statement. “This is a milestone year for me. Mom and I played our very first show in 1984, which means I’ve been performing live for 40 years.

That’s more than half of my life!” She continued, “‘The Greatest Hits’ celebration is a chance for the fans and I to celebrate. They have been with me for so long, and my hope is that everyone will get to hear their favourite song. How many hits can we fit into one show? Let’s find out!”

Wynonna last performed a nine-show run at The Venetian Theatre during ‘The Judds – Girls’ Night Out residency with her mother, Naomi Judd. Naomi, a renowned country legend, tragically died by suicide in April 2022 at the age of 76. Reflecting on the loss, Wynonna and her sister, Ashley Judd, announced in a statement obtained, “Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by the public. We are in unknown territory.”

“I feel her, and I miss her terribly,” Wynonna said soberly of her iconic mom. “It’s the ‘best and the worst of times’ kind of thing, where you’re keenly aware of where you were and what was going on, on that day.”

She added, “I think about everything differently now, now that Mom is gone.” The upcoming Greatest Hits shows not only celebrate Wynonna’s illustrious career but also serve as a poignant tribute to her late mother, making this milestone year even more significant.
