'X': The New Horror Film That Has Watchers Terrified

Netflix viewers have found themselves on the edge of their seats with Ti West's chilling horror flick, 'X,' which recently made its debut on the streaming platform.

This A24 production delves into the eerie tale of a group of actors venturing to rural Texas to shoot an adult film without alerting their secluded hosts. However, when the elderly couple discovers their clandestine activities, the cast must fight for survival. X features an ensemble cast including Mia Goth Jenna Ortega and musician Kid Cudi.

Goth tackles the dual roles of Maxine, an aspiring adult film star and Pearl, an elderly woman. Ortega takes on the character of Lorraine Day, while Mescudi portrays Jackson Hole, a Marine Corps veteran. Martin Henderson, Brittany Snow and Owen Campbell also contribute their talents to the film as Wayne Gilroy, Bobby-Lynne Parker and RJ Nichols respectively.

Since its Netflix release on 1st February, 'X' has been generating buzz among horror aficionados on social media. Some viewers have even hailed it as the "best feature film" they've ever seen, praising the direction, performances, and captivating locations.

Netflix's official Facebook page shared a teaser clip showcasing Goth's character, Maxine, engaging in a tense encounter with an alligator in a lake, prompting enthusiastic responses from viewers.

Critics also lauded 'X' upon its initial release in 2022, with the film maintaining an impressive 94 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, Ti West treated audiences to a prequel titled 'Pearl' the same year, exploring Goth's character's descent into madness as she grapples with isolation and pursues stardom.
