Swedish pop sensation Zara Larsson is gearing up for a major summer takeover with the announcement of her highly anticipated deluxe album 'Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.' The project reimagines Charli XCX's 2025 album 'Midnight Sun' with an all-female, star-studded roster, drawing inspiration from the remix-style energy of her "Brat" era. The deluxe, which features well-known international artists like Robyn, Shakira, PinkPantheress, and more, offers a daring, collaborative take on her already popular album.

A New Era: From 'Midnight Sun' to 'Girls Trip'

Originally released in September 2025, 'Midnight Sun' marked Zara Larsson's fifth studio album and showcased her evolution as a global pop artist. With popular singles like 'Pretty Ugly,' 'Midnight Sun,' and 'Crush,' the electropop and dance-pop album helped her regain significant chart momentum and critical praise. Building on that success, Larsson recently announced a deluxe edition of the album via Instagram on Wednesday (22nd April), officially titled 'Midnight Sun: Girls Trip,' set to release on 1st May, 2026.

She posted a video in which she enters a petrol station and picks out keychains with all of the collaborators' names on them. Her caption stated, "I'm so so so so so honored and excited for this. And you know what's crazy? This is just the beginning of girls trip!!! Like HELLO This summer is gonna be madness." The project is a total redesign rather than merely an expansion, adding 10 new songs to the original 10, creating a 20-song collection. Larsson has described the album as a celebration of friendship, summer, and female artistry, drawing inspiration from the collaborative remix culture made popular by Charli XCX's 'Brat.'

The deluxe also comes during an immense period in her career, which includes her latest Coachella performance, chart success with collaborations like 'Stateside,' viral hits, and a successful tour that introduced her to new fans around the world.
