Zayn Malik Announces New Album, ‘Room Under the Stairs’

Famous ‘Pillowtalk’ crooner Zayn Malik revealed some exciting news on 13th March when he revealed the name of his eagerly awaited fourth studio album, ‘Room Under the Stairs,’ on Instagram. Malik’s face is shown in silhouette against a blueprint of a house in the album cover artwork, which marks the beginning of a new phase in his artistic career.

With this album, which is slated for release on 17th May via Mercury Records, Malik will make his debut with the label and join the ranks of artists such as Lily-Rose, Noah Kahan and Post Malone. On Friday, 15th March, Malik will release the lead single from the album, ‘What I Am,’ giving fans a preview of what’s to come.

Malik recently revealed his plans for the album on Instagram, saying he wanted to give fans a more in-depth grasp of his feelings and experiences. Emphasizing his solo creative process and the authenticity he seeks to portray, he highlighted a genuine and intimate relationship between himself, his music, and his audience.

The album promises a distinctive aural experience, co-produced by Dave Cobb, who is well-known for his work in rock and country music with artists like Lady Gaga and Chris Stapleton. With Cobb’s skill and Malik’s reflective lyrics and soulful vocals, the combination promises an engaging musical experience.

Malik teased that the album would sound different from his previous work in an open interview on Call Her Daddy from the previous year. He teased a more narrative-driven style that was infused with references to his daughter and real-life experiences. Malik seems ready to enthral audiences with ‘Room Under the Stairs,’ showcasing his unique creative development and raw storytelling.
