Zayn Malik Unveils ‘Stardust’ Video Alongside New Album ‘Room Under The Stairs’

The ethereal visual, directed by Frank and Ivanna Borin, portrays Malik as an otherworldly creature exploring Earth. He follows falling stars, wades through a magical lake, and navigates a forest where rocks hang suspended in the air.

The folk-pop track features Malik crooning, ‘Feels like stardust’ / ‘Floatin all around us’, / ‘Shootin right across’ / ‘Big black sky’. ‘Room Under the Stairs’ marks Malik’s first release with Mercury Records, joining a roster of artists like Noah Kahan, Post Malone, and Lily-Rose.

A renowned magazine confirmed his new album earlier this year, highlighting that Malik had been writing the songs for several years at his home in rural Pennsylvania before collaborating with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb.

Cobb, known for his work with artists like Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, and Lady Gaga, praised Malik’s voice for its raw emotion and humanity, noting that the album feels like Malik is sharing his spirit directly with his fans.

Cobb added, “Zayn has really created his own universe on this record, he really has no fear and is speaking straight from his soul.”

Malik introduced fans to the album with its first single, ‘What I Am’ and teased the project with a short video on Instagram, expressing his intention for listeners to gain more insight into him as a human being.
