Zendaya And Robert Pattinson in Talks to Lead A24’s New Drama

Following the success of his recent film ‘Dream Scenario’, director Kristoffer Borgli is teaming up with A24 once again for an exciting new project. This time, Borgli is set to direct a romantic film tentatively titled ‘The Drama’, and it appears that he has attracted two of Hollywood’s biggest stars for the lead roles.

According to Deadline, A24 is currently in preliminary discussions to cast Robert Pattinson and Zendaya in the film, with the studio handling both financing and production duties. Borgli, who also wrote the script, will direct the project.

While specific details about the film’s plot remain under wraps, there are circulating rumours suggesting that the story revolves around a romance that takes an unforeseen twist just before the couple’s wedding. The production will be managed by Aster, Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone through their company, Square Peg.

This collaboration marks another joint venture between A24 and Square Peg, who have previously worked together on films such as ‘Hereditary’, ‘Midsommar’, ‘Dream Scenario’, and upcoming projects like Death of a ‘Unicorn’, featuring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, as well as ‘Eddington’, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, and Emma Stone.

A24 was keen to work with Borgli again following the acclaim of ‘Dream Scenario’, and the project gained momentum when Zendaya expressed a strong interest in taking on a lead role. While final agreements are still in the works, Pattinson was later added to the cast, making the film a top priority for the studio.

Zendaya has already had a stellar year, highlighted by the global success of ‘Dune: Part Two’, which grossed over $700 million worldwide. Her subsequent role in the tennis drama ‘Challengers’ at Amazon MGM Studios also received positive reviews and earned $94 million globally, including $50 million in the U.S. Meanwhile, Pattinson, who starred in The ‘Batman’ (2022), is preparing for his role in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17, set for release next year.
