Zendaya’s upcoming film, ‘Challengers’, is creating quite a buzz in the cinematic world of 2024. Positioned right after the highly anticipated ‘Dune: Part Two’, this dramedy centred around the competitive realm of tennis promises an engaging storyline that’s worth the wait.

The movie’s latest trailer hints at a captivating narrative, amplified by Zendaya’s compelling performance alongside two talented co-stars, setting the stage for an intriguing love triangle that’s bound to keep audiences hooked. Originally scheduled for release, ‘Challengers’ underwent a significant delay, pushing its theatrical debut to April 26, 2024. This shift marked a notable departure from its initial, premiere date, emphasising the intricate planning and anticipation surrounding the film’s release.

The initial plans for ‘Challengers’ included a grand unveiling at the prestigious 2023 Venice Film Festival, where it was slated to feature prominently. 

However, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, the movie withdrew from its opening night slot at the festival. This decision was made to respect the strike and its impact on the promotional activities involving stars like Zendaya.

Despite these challenges, the first trailer for ‘Challengers’ made its debut offering viewers a tantalising glimpse into the narrative. Set against Rihanna’s electrifying track ‘S&M’, the trailer intricately weaves together the past and present lives of characters like Tashi, Art, and Patrick, providing a sneak peek into their intertwined stories and the intense dynamics on and off the tennis court.
