Hollywood actress Zendaya has finally responded to the widely shared wedding pictures of her and Tom Holland that went viral. There was a lot of speculation that the pair had secretly been married because the pictures seemed so real. The actress has since clarified that the images were completely artificial intelligence (AI)-generated and not real.

Viral Photos, Wedding Rumours and Internet Frenzy

The controversy began when a set of highly realistic wedding images of Zendaya and Tom Holland surfaced online and quickly went viral. The pictures showed the couple dressed in bridal attire, exchanging vows in a dreamy setting. Despite being labelled as AI-generated by the creator, many fans believed they were genuine, with the images reportedly gaining millions of likes across social media.

The rumours were only strengthened by the timing of the pictures. Zendaya has been spotted wearing a ring with her engagement band, and earlier this month, her longtime stylist Law Roach even raised the possibility that the couple had already tied the knot, escalating rumours.

Zendaya and Holland, who first met during the 'Spider-Man' films, have been one of Hollywood's most loved couples. They became engaged in 2024 after publicly declaring their romance in 2021, therefore any suggestion of a covert nuptials became a hot topic among fans.

Zendaya Breaks Silence During 'The Drama' Promotions

Zendaya addressed the matter during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, debunking all the rumours, while promoting her upcoming film 'The Drama.' The actress disclosed that the AI-generated photos have even tricked people in her personal life. She shared that strangers and acquaintances approached her, complimenting her on the "beautiful wedding photos," only for her to respond that they were fake. In her own words, many people had been "fooled" by the images, highlighting just how convincing AI technology has become.

Zendaya handled the situation with humour, even joking about it during the interview by showing a spoof wedding clip from her upcoming film. She made it clear that the viral photos were not real and did not confirm any actual wedding despite the continuous hype. 'The Drama,' a romantic film that co-stars Robert Pattinson and is scheduled for release in April 2026, has been heavily promoted by the actress.

Her recent public appearances, such as interviews and award presentations, have kept her in the public eye and increased conversations about her private life.

AI Misinformation and What's Next for Zendaya

The event has once again brought attention to how AI is increasingly being used to disseminate false information, particularly about celebrities. Millions of people on the internet were unable to distinguish between fact and fiction due to the photographs' realism, despite the creator's clarification that they were fake. On the other hand, Zendaya remains committed to her career in spite of the rumours.

Along with 'The Drama,' she has a packed lineup ahead, including major projects like 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey.' Regarding her relationship with Tom Holland, the couple has opted to maintain their privacy, neither confirming nor denying recent rumours that they are getting married.

For the time being, Zendaya's response has made one thing clear—the viral wedding photos may have fooled the internet, but they were nothing more than a product of artificial intelligence.
