When is ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ Coming Out in Big Screens?

The highly praised Spider-Verse trilogy from Sony will culminate with ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’.

This third installment is anticipated to bring Miles Morales’ journey to a close, following ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (2018), which took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and its follow-up, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’.

Along with a stellar cast that includes Jake Johnson, Mahershala Ali, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Vélez, Issa Rae,  Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, and Oscar Isaac, Shameik Moore reprises his role as Miles’ voice.

No release date has been established as of now.  The SAG-AFTRA strike caused delays that prevented the voice cast from finishing their recordings in time for the film’s original release date of 29th March 2024.

After the strike ended in November 2024, production got back underway, and Christopher Miller announced in December that the film was making progress, calling it a heartfelt and fulfilling ending to the trilogy.

The earliest probable release might be in 2026, with some rumours even speculating about a 2027 debut, as Sony is not planning to release the movie in 2025.

In December 2024, the third movie’s directors were revealed. Justin K. Thompson, who served as executive producer on the sequel, and Bob Persichetti, who co-directed ‘Into the Spider-Verse’, will return to helm the production.

There are other Spider-Verse projects in development besides the main trilogy.  There are rumours that a spin-off about Spider-Women, including Spider-Gwen, is in development.

Furthermore, Sony Pictures and producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are already working on a project to turn the Spider-Verse into a Marvel TV universe, which may add even more characters and plots.
