Why Is Harry Styles Celebrating Right Now?

Harry Styles’ sophomore solo record, ‘Fine Line’ continues to soar on the Billboard 200 album charts. This week it’s officially the album that will be on the chart’s summit at midnight on New Year’s Day. And honestly, what better way to start the new decade?!

Fine Line is the first pop album to spend two weeks at No. 1 since Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project set also spent its first two weeks in charge, on the charts.

Fine Line tallied 89,000 equivalent album units, a significant drop from its debut week numbers of 478,000 units, but still enough to hold off competition from Michael Bublé, and Mariah Carey.

Styles launched his new era with the single “Lights Up,” a gentler tune that could just make the perfect listen on a road trip. Styles revealed that much of his album was recorded over a six-week period with producers Tyler Johnson and Jeff Bhasker. He reunited with some of the same writers and musicians from his first LP and tour, and described Fine Line as “all about having sex and feeling sad.”

Well, clearly that’s the perfect recipe to creating a chart-topper. But honestly, Harry’s moment on the charts has been long overdue!
