Will Sophie Turner Reprise Her Iconic Role as Sansa Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’
Sophie Turner is well-known for her role as Sansa Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’, a character who faced initial disdain but ultimately won over fans throughout the series. By the end, Sansa’s transformation into the Queen in the North delighted viewers and marked a significant character evolution from her early days as a naive and self-centered girl to a wise and strategic leader. This journey was not only a milestone for fans but also for Turner, who began playing Sansa at the age of 15.
In a recent interview with Variety, Turner opened up about the potential of reprising her role and her affection for Sansa. When asked if she would return, Turner responded, “Maybe,” but emphasized that it would require the same cast and crew to entice her back. “It would have to be the exact same cast and the exact same crew; otherwise, I wouldn’t go back, and that would just be Season 9,” she stated.

While she dismissed the likelihood of another season, she expressed her ongoing curiosity about Sansa’s future. “I loved playing Sansa, and I often wonder what she would be doing now. Would she still be queen in the North? Would she be a good ruler? What kind of wars would she be facing?” she mused.
Despite the excitement surrounding the character’s development, the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ was widely criticized for its rushed and inconsistent plot, earning the lowest ratings in the show’s history on Rotten Tomatoes. Nevertheless, some cast members have defended the finale. Peter Dinklage, who portrayed Tyrion Lannister, expressed his enjoyment of the ending, while Kristian Nairn, known for his role as Hodor, argued that Daenerys’ actions in the finale were consistent with her character’s trajectory throughout the series.
