Styles achieved the uncommon achievement of concurrently holding the number one album and number one tune (‘Harry’s House’ lead single ‘As It Was’) in a number of nations, in addition to recording the fastest selling album in the UK in 2022.

The feat was accomplished in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Belgium. ‘Harry’s House’ went to number one in Norway, Finland and Denmark.

The album had the best opening week of any album in 2022 in the United States, and it was only the fourth album in the last 18 months to sell at least 500,000 volumes in a single week. It’s Styles’ third US number one, and it extends his record as the first British male artist to launch at #1 on the Billboard 200 with his first three albums, as well as the best sales week for a British male artist’s album since Nielsen Music began electronically recording sales data in 1991.

For four weeks, ‘As It Was’ has been the number one single in the United States, with three other songs in the top ten and every song on the album in the top thirty. The Beatles are the only other act to have four top ten singles in the US at the same time, which they did in 1964.

‘Harry’s House’ is the fastest-selling album in the United Kingdom so far this year. With ‘As It Was’ (currently the year’s longest-running chart topping after eight weeks), followed by ‘Late Night Talking’ and ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant,’ he is also the third-ever artist to have his or her name in the top three on the singles chart. All 13 ‘Harry’s House’ tracks are in the top 15 in Australia.

As previously reported, Styles’ 182,000 US vinyl sales in the first three days of release set a new record, surpassing Taylor Swift’s 114,000 sales for ‘RED’ last year. With 36,000 sales in the UK, it is the best-selling vinyl of the century.
