YouTube has released a list of the top music videos in the UK for the year. Dave and Bad Boy Chiller Crew topped this year’s list. Dave’s 2022 single, ‘Starlight,’ has more than 37.7 million global views on the platform, and it debuted at Number One on the Top 10 list. With 19 million worldwide plays to date, ‘BMW (French The Kid, MIST, Bugzy Malone Remix)’ by Bad Boy Chiller Crew is currently at Number Two.
Harry Styes’ ‘As It Was’ is the third-most popular music video in the UK over the previous 12 months, after Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last,’ Aitch and Ashanti’s ‘Baby,’ Diane Guerrero and Stephanie Beatriz’s ‘What Else Can I Do? from Disney’s ‘Encanto’.
The songs ‘No Excuses’ by Bru-C, ‘Pump 101’ by Digga D and StillBrickin, ‘Packs And Potions’ by Hazey, and ‘Come & Go’ by ArrDee, respectively, are in the final four slots.
Eight UK-born musicians are represented in the YouTube Top 10 for the first time in 12 years, with drill and rap taking the top two spots. Additionally, the streaming service remarked that the run-down exhibits a greater “geographical spread” than in previous years, illustrating “the devolution of talent” from all around the nation.
YouTube said that acts’ partnerships were “driving consumption” on the website.
