Yung Raja Delivers a Groovy New Single: ‘The Dance Song’

Yung Raja shines bright in 'The Dance Song'

When thinking of rap and hip-hop, multiculturalism or the celebration of it may not be the first thought to strike. And, for fair reason. The hip-hop/ rap scene is one of the most closely guarded genres of music. And, to stand out, you have to offer something new. Well, Singaporean rapper, Yung Raja, who is quickly climbing up the ladder to “sensation” status, comes bearing vibrant gifts on his new track, ‘The Dance Song’. And, as far flavour goes, this one’s unique enough to place Raja on the map.

Beauty is in the Balance

Yung Raja, who has made quite the name for himself in the last few years has carved a unique space for himself in the rap music scene. And, signed to Def Jam South East Asia, the young star joins the league of some of the biggest names in Rap and Hip-Hop.

But, being in august company isn’t what defines his art or his persona. And, one listen to his new release, ‘The Dance Song’, will tell you that. Raja’s work continues to be defined by balance – doing his own thing, and being likeable at the same time; staying true to his art and form, but striking a chord with the masses.

Set to a groovy bassline, incorporating elements of Traditional Indian rhythm, ‘The Dance Song’ is a vibrant display of culture. And, once again, it stands out as a work of balance. Lyrically, the track combines English and Tamil language rap, standing out entirely. But, with regards to production and arrangement, this track will get anyone grooving, following familiar hip-hop beats.

In addition, a statement accompanying the track read, ” ‘The Dance Song’ [is] a narrative on self-empowerment. Every line is a sweet spot of humour, confidence and charisma.” And, with that, the track goes one step further in celebrating the characteristics of Raja’s work: inclusivity and multiculturalism in music.

‘The Dance Song’ is out now and available on all streaming platforms.
