Yungblud Covers 'cardigan'; Taylor Swift Has This to Say

Pop-punk singer-songwriter, Yungblud, took the stage at the BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge series, late last night. And, accompanying an electrifying performance of his single 'Strawberry Lipstick', was a cover of Taylor Swift's latest hit, 'cardigan'. In addition, he offered up a medley of Swift's 'folklore' track with Avril Lavigne's 2002 hit, 'I'm With You'. 

The Medley 2020 Needed

So, the cover mashed up the two pop ballads - both acoustic in nature (for the most part), with surprising ease. In addition, the singer delivered a relatively mellow, acoustic performance of the two tracks. In a socially distanced stage set up, Yungblud took us on a trip down memory lane and hit us with an arrangement of acoustic goodness and moving vocals. 

And, if delivering a hard-hitting performance wasn't enough, Yungblud has earned a stamp of approval from Swift herself. The 'folklore' artist tweeted words of praise for the unique medley. She wrote, "WELL this took my breath away. And, I’m honored to hear Cardigan intertwined with the wonderful Avril Lavigne’s masterpiece." Further, she added, "Bravo and thanks!"

In addition, Yungblud delivered a solid performance of 'Strawberry Lips', ahead of the release of is studio album, "Weird!". And, the project is slated for release on the 12th of November.
