Zayn Malik is Writing Music For Animated Movie, ‘10 Lives’
Zayn Malik, the former member of One Direction, is writing new music for the upcoming animated feature, ‘10 Lives.’ Malik has taken on the role of executive music producer for the film and will be responsible for its musical direction. Not only will he be overseeing the music, but he is also set to create original music for the movie, in addition to working on his next studio album with Mercury Records.
The film centres around the life of a spoiled cat who has, quite literally, nine lives but takes them all for granted. When the cat loses its ninth life, it pleads for one more chance to prove that it has learned from its past mistakes. However, there are unexpected complications that arise once this wish is granted.

Zayn Malik will also collaborate with the talented Bridgerton star, Simone Ashley. They are set to record a duet for the film. Beyond the musical collaboration, both Malik and Ashley are also part of the film’s cast. Malik portrays the tough-guy twins, Cameron and Kirk, while Ashley voices the character Rose, a student in the story.
The star-studded cast doesn’t end there. ‘10 Lives’ will also feature renowned actors such as Bill Nighy, Mo Gilligan, Sophie Okonedo, Dylan Llewellyn and Jeremy Swift.

The ‘Pillowtalk’ singer expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “I always enjoy my time in the studio creating from my perspective. While creating music for ’10 Lives,’ I was able to immerse myself in a narrative that I hadn’t dictated and was able to bring the characters’ emotions into the music rather than my own. I really enjoyed writing specifically to bring them all to life. It’s a film that’s not only fun to watch but has a very beautiful sentiment for people of all ages. I hope people love it, and the music we created really connects and transports them deeper into the ’10 Lives’ world.”
The film’s casting directors and music supervisors, Robyn Klein and Jeremy Ross, shared their excitement for the project as well. They emphasized the significance of the connection between great film and great music, and how Zayn Malik’s multifaceted talents have contributed to the depth and emotion of ‘10 Lives.’

Zayn released his latest single ‘Love Like This’ in June. He mentioned, “I’m working on my new album currently that is coming soon, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s next.” Zayn Malik’s fans have much to look forward to, both in terms of his music and his foray into the world of animated cinema.
