Zoë Kravitz Praises Ex Channing Tatum’s ‘Charisma’ in ‘Blink Twice’ Interview Post Split
Despite their recent split, Zoë Kravitz still praises Channing Tatum’s performance in ‘Blink Twice’. In an interview with Variety’s Directors on Directors, Kravitz, the film’s director, revealed that he purposefully chose to cast Tatum as tech billionaire Slater King to showcase his innate charm in a more surprising and sinister role.
Kravitz said Tatum was her first option for the position, adding that she was looking for an actor whose inherent charisma could immediately calm the audience, especially during sequences with Naomi Ackie’s character, Frida. Kravitz stated that he had no regrets about selecting Tatum for the part, even though their engagement ended in October 2023, because his performance gave the psychological thriller more nuance.

Kravitz has previously expressed his admiration for Tatum. In 2021, she stated that she was certain he would provide a distinct viewpoint to the role because of his work in ‘Magic Mike’ and live performances, characterizing him as someone interested in delving into intricate subjects. Tatum described working with a partner as really rewarding, and Kravitz and Tatum both spoke favourably about the creative process on the ‘Blink Twice’ press tour earlier in their relationship.
The couple became engaged in 2023 after igniting dating rumours in 2021, but they later chose to split up, allegedly because they were in different stages of life. The two are still dedicated to their working connection despite their breakup. According to insiders, they will work together on another project called ‘Alpha Gang’ since they admire one another and are eager to create together.
