Zoe Saldaña Overcome With Gratitude and Emotion as She Wins First Golden Globe
At the 2025 Golden Globes, Zoe Saldaña celebrated her historic victory by winning the award for best supporting female performance. As she took the stage to accept her prize, the 46-year-old actress was overcome with emotion and blurted out, “Oh my God,” with tears in her eyes. She conveyed her gratitude, stating that although she was pumped with excitement, her heart was bursting with thankfulness.
In ‘Emilia Pérez’, which received ten Golden Globe nominations, Saldaña congratulated Selena Gomez and her co-stars. She also dedicated the victory to her family, saying, “I love you — you guys are everything.” In the movie, a lawyer helps a Mexican drug lord—who is now ‘Emilia Pérez’—get gender-affirming surgery so they can reunite with their family years later.
Even after starring in ‘Avatar’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, this was Saldaña’s first Golden Globe nomination and win. The actress talked about the strong relationship she formed with her ‘Emilia Pérez’ co-stars, highlighting their love and support for one another while filming. With her victory, Saldaña joins her outstanding classmates who were nominated in the same category as Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Felicity Jones.

Isabella Rossellini, who played Sister Agnes in ‘Conclave’ with little language but a powerful impact, was another well-known contender. Margaret Qualley thought back on her daring performance in ‘The Substance’, while Ariana Grande took to social media to express her sincere gratitude for her part in ‘Wicked’.
Every nominee for the 82nd Golden Globes gave outstanding performances, showcasing amazing talent in both film and television.
