Zoe Saldaña Unveils ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ at CinemaCon 2025

Zoe Saldaña is thrilled to be back in Pandora with the third installment of James Cameron's sci-fi story, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’.  She unveiled a sneak peek of the eagerly awaited movie at CinemaCon 2025.  Cameron stayed on set to finish the project, therefore, he was unable to attend.

 Prior to revealing the teaser, Saldaña said ‘Fire and Ash’ would be a unique experience that nevertheless had all the elements that viewers want.  Two new Na'vi tribes are added to Pandora's world in the movie: the Ash People, who have given up their spiritual beliefs, and the Windtraders, a peaceful, airborne nomadic society.

In the video, Windtraders were seen flying in enormous ships with fragile, wing-like structures under the direction of manta-ray-like animals.  The main fight intensifies as human military forces from Earth return.  A number of heartfelt reunions between cherished characters are also anticipated by fans.

 Saldaña returns to the character of Neytiri, who is related to Jake Sully (Sam Worthington).   After the tragic death of their eldest son, Neteyem, the action immediately resumes after ‘The Way of Water’.

In March, Cameron revealed that ‘Fire and Ash’ would be much longer than ‘The Way of Water’, which lasted three hours and twelve minutes. Cameron has been hinting at this in previous interviews.  Additionally, he revealed that his wife, Suzy Amis Cameron, was so moved by the entire film in December 2024 that she sobbed for four hours.

 A large portion of the cast from ‘The Way of Water’ returns in the movie, along with newcomers Michelle Yeoh and Edie Falco.  Following her recent Academy Award victory for Emilia Pérez, which marked a significant milestone in her career, Saldaña made an appearance at CinemaCon.

 19th December is the release date for ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. The fourth movie is intended for December 2029, and the fifth installment is anticipated in December 2031.
