Addressing the Russo Brothers, Saldana highlighted her wish to delve into the complex father-daughter dynamics that define Gamora’s character. She noted, “It was such a great opportunity to play a daughter having issues with a dad,” indicating that she sees untapped potential in exploring this relationship further.
The actress believes that exploring themes of reconciliation and healing could have added depth to Gamora’s narrative. Gamora’s journey is intricately tied to the overarching narrative of the MCU, particularly her relationship with the formidable Thanos, who sacrificed her in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ to obtain the Soul Stone.
Despite her tragic fate, Saldana reprised her role in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, returning from an alternate timeline to join forces with the Avengers in their final battle against Thanos.
Through her reflections, Zoe Saldana reveals a profound connection to Gamora, indicating that she is eager to enhance the character’s depth and complexity in any future projects.
