Happy Birthday Charlie!
Charlie Puth was born in Rumson, New Jersey in 1991 and the star celebrates his birthday on December 2nd making all Sagittarius proud! Charlie Puth has always been musically gifted, he was encouraged by his mother to join jazz music classes and learn how to play the piano during his childhood. And after that, he won a full scholarship to Berklee College of music.
Charlie Puth ultimately shot to fame through a Youtube channel, ‘CharlieVlog’ in 2009 where he posted originals and covers. He was later invited to perform at the Ellen show and also to sign into her record label eleveneleven in October 2011. However, he left the label pretty soon, and to this day, there’s no clear reason as to why he did so.
Charlie is known for his catchy hooks and distinctive falsettos, but he’s also the pen behind a number of other artists’ tunes! In addition to penning his own hits like “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” “Attention” and “See You Again,” Puth has also co-written and produced a number of tracks for artists such as One Direction member Liam Payne and Maroon 5.
Not very often do we wonder about the song-writers behind hit singles and that’s why, here are some note-worthy moments where Charlie’s really outdone himself when it comes to writing-
In 2015, Puth co-wrote and co-produced CeeLo Green’s “Working Class Heroes (Work),” a dancey track featuring an upbeat bass and inspirational lyrics about working hard. The song was featured on Green’s fifth studio album Heart Blanche.
He also co-wrote a jam for Pitbull from the movie ‘Penguins of Madagascar’ which was later released on Pitbull’s eighth studio album Globalization.
Puth teamed up with pop singer Zara Larsson for the glittery-pop single “So Good” in 2017 which he co-wrote and co-produced. The song was the fifth single from Larsson’s sophomore album of the same name and features rapper Ty Dolla $ign.
“See you again” was one of his biggest hits with Wiz Khalifa , the emotional song helped millions over the world mourn Paul Walker’s unexpected death.
He’s actually a pretty good music producer, too! He actually produced Jason Derulo’s collaboration with Stevie Wonder and Keith Urban, ‘Broke’, on Jason’s ‘Everything Is 4’ album. Talk about music royalty!
This multi-talented individual is celebrating his 28th birthday today and we can’t wait to get a peek into the celebrations.
