Harry In A Revealing Stance With Stern

British heartthrob Harry Styles sat down with Howard Stern an interview in New York and got personal on his life and what has been up in Styles-world.

In response to a question Harry quite possibly has been asked more than a dozen times on various talk shows (Taylor Swift drama), he said, “I think about what it means to me to write a song about somebody else and, if somebody has to do that, I think it’s like flattering. Even if the song isn’t that flattering, you’ve still spent time on it and, ultimately, using Taylor as an example, she’s a great songwriter. The only time you really, like, think about, ‘Oh, is this song too personal?’ is if you think about is this going to be really annoying for this other person.” If you’re wondering what the question is, this is of course in response to being asked if it bothers him when Taylor Swift writes elaborate, descriptive songs about their past together.

He opened up about a lot more than just past relationships and gave his fans a bit of a shock as well when he mentioned that he almost got robbed at knifepoint last month. In a riveting story he reveals an incident in a London neighborhood: “The guys cross the road and I’m like, ‘Oh that’s weird. I cross the street again and they cross the street again, and I’m like ‘Oh, for f–k’s sake. I think I’m about to get robbed.” To everyone’s relief he was able to get away by walking into the traffic and eventually making it home but imaginably flustered.

On another note, he spoke about One Direction and what that experience meant to him, while also addressing Zayn Malik’s departure from the group in 2015. Getting real about Zayn, the 26-year-old said, “I don’t know if I could say it’s something he shouldn’t have done because I just didn’t feel that way, so it’s hard for me to condemn it… looking at it now, the last thing I would’ve wanted was for him to stay there if he didn’t want to be there.”

Harry, stay real and keep serving us the realness like no one else!
