Leap Day Sees JLo Naked

On 29th February, Jennifer Lopez sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a heart to heart. In the historic The Forum of Los Angeles, JLo got candid and nakedly truthful with Oprah on all things happening in her life at the moment.

“She is on top of her game and gives new meaning to the word ’50’,” Oprah said introducing Lopez. This came as the fitting update on what has been going on in JLo’s life. The world saw and reckoned with her SuperBowl halftime performance with Shakira, watched wilfully her latest Oscar’s snub, and wait on as the wedding date with her fiance Alex Rodriguez comes close.

“I was sad…I was a little sad. Because there was a lot of build up to it. I got so many good notices, like more than ever in my career, and there was a lot of like, ‘She’s gonna get nominated for an Oscar.’ I’m reading all the articles and I’m like oh my God, could this happen? And then it didn’t, and I was like, ouch! It was a little bit of a letdown,” JLo said addressing her Oscar snub.

When it came to the smashing hit that her halftime performance was, she said “I knew who I was representing—not just myself but women, Latinos, and all humans.” This is a strong statement from a strong woman who knows that her representation matters and does it unabashedly.

Oprah then dived deep into the romantic end of the deep, deep pool that is JLo. She wondered why it was Alex that JLo chose and what it is about him that makes her consistently say yes.

“It was different than anything I had ever experienced in the sense of…his consistency. What he says, he does. Every time. And that is big,” we heard JLo say. “And he also wants to build together, which I’ve never had…I’ve never had somebody who wants to see me shine and grow. I think him being in my life is a big part of what happened this year.”

Sigh, if this doesn’t make you swoon and call quits on all the f*ckbois in your life, I don’t know what will.
