Miller’s Coming Back to Life
Mac Miller’s estate is all set to release Miller’s first posthumous album.
Malcolm James Cormick, better known as Mac Miller, was a rapper and producer, famous for songs such as “Self Care”, “Dang!” and “My Favourite Part”. At 26, he died due to an accidental drug overdose, shaking up the industry. He struggled with addiction issues for much of his career, but his resilience and vulnerability is what made him unique. His music boasted of charm, honesty and grit that is often missing from mainstream hip hop.
Miller’s estate just released news of his first posthumous album “Circles”. The album is said to be a follow up to his 2018 release “Swimming”. The announcement was made via Miller’s Instagram page, now handled by his parents. The post read – “At the time of his passing, Malcolm was well into the process of recording his companion album to Swimming, entitled, Circles. Two different styles complementing each other, completing a circle–Swimming in Circles was the concept.”
The post made headlines quickly. The release date is set for January 17th. Miller’s album “Swimming” was even nominated for a Grammy and received much critical acclaim.
We can’t wait to see what this era of Mac brings to the table. In Ari’s words “thank you, you’re an angel”.
